Three years ago, Lisa launched Lisa Arose Lifestyle Design (formerly Lisa Arose Home Entertaining), a personal chef and consulting business to help individuals, families and small business owners pursue the art of living well. Her expertise is a culmination of 15 years of exploring myriad facets of the "living well" concept, during which she held the diverse positions of wife and stepmother, entrepreneur, community volunteer, fitness enthusiast, expert in public health promotions, writer, public speaker, talk show host, supporter of green living, personal chef and home entertaining maven. She is now a sought after lifestyle design expert, cooking instructor and public speaker.
Lisa’s commitment to health and living well has been the common thread running throughout her professional life. Lisa graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Biological Sciences and academic concentrations in her two passions—nutritional science and communications. She later went on to get her MBA from Wright State University. While an undergraduate, Lisa worked for Good Morning America, assisting the Health and Medical editor to produce health and wellness-related segments for the morning show. Lisa was also a researcher at the Obesity Research Center in New York City, studying eating disorders and eating behavior. After college, she began to pursue a career that merged her love of health and communications, working in health care consulting, public relations, social science research and community development. Through her work, Lisa was instrumental in developing community resources and programs to support healthy youth and families. She became a sought-after author and speaker on healthy communities and even hosted a local talk show to promote resources to support healthy youth and families. She has spoken at the 17th National Conference on Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, the Ohio Department of Health Practical Approaches to Public Health Data Collection and Analysis Conference, the 7th Annual Community Campus Partnership for Health Conference, the Ohio Department of Health Public Health Summer Institute, the 15th Annual Ohio Prevention and Education Conference, and the Greene County Doing What Works Conference.
While Lisa's professional life certainly developed her expertise in health and communications, her real education on "living well" developed through her personal life. When Lisa married her husband, Dave, eight years ago. she also inherited an instant family, becoming a stepmother to Dave’s five teenage and young adult children from his first marriage. Lisa quickly learned how to create a beautiful, organized home, one that felt comfortable, welcoming and loving for everyone in their new blended family. Dinners at the kitchen table became the forum for them to develop love, respect and trust in each other. Lisa relishes in her role as stepmom, friend and confidant to Dave’s intelligent, loving and compassionate children, and she is thankful every day for the grace in which they welcomed her into their lives.
Throughout her life, Lisa’s one abiding constant has been her passion for sharing her kitchen with her family and friends, to prepare simple, healthy, elegant meals that make everyone want to linger around the table, telling stories and laughing for hours. It is often in these casual moments when the best memories of our lives are made. That concept is the foundation for Lisa's Lifestyle Design business.
